Friday Harbor Labs weather and water monitoring station now on NVS with near-real-time data. Weather station has been in operation since 2006 and its underwater sensors since 2010.

Annual marine survey from apprenticeship class taught every Fall at Friday Harbor Labs since 2004, encompassing oceanographic, plankton and marine bird & mammal observations at sites in and around the San Juan Channel. Includes link to dataset web site.

Summertime buoy (Alder) deployed 3/27/12 with a suite of weather sensors and capability to measure (in NRT) current velocity (12, 26, 42, 56, 70m), salinity & temp. (2, 30, 60, 73m), DO (60, 73m) and pressure (73m). Telemetry frequency is once per hour.

Mooring was previously reconfigured to a single package of sensors at a near-bottom depth. Updated NVS to reflect this reconfiguration.

Dabob Bay shellfish hatchery water monitoring site now on NVS; sensors were deployed in 2011, and are managed by Taylor Shellfish Farms in collaboration with the Pacific Coast Shellfish Growers Association.
