NANOOS would like to thank the generous support of its principal sponsor, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), a part of the US Department of Commerce.

Since the late 1990s, NOAA has been building the capacity for regional ocean observing systems that will achieve three long-term outcomes:

  • Coordinated regional observing and data management infrastructure
  • Applications and products for regional stakeholders
  • Regional and national data management and communications protocols

NANOOS is contributing to these outcomes. With NOAA's grant funds NANOOS is supporting NOAA's Integrated Ocean Observing System's core oceanographic variables:

  • Sea Water Temperature
  • Salinity
  • Water Sea Level
  • Currents
  • Ocean Color

Find out more about these important indicators of ocean and coastal conditions here.

NANOOS Thanks Sponsors & Partners

NANOOS gratefully acknowledges all of its member organizations which graciously contribute their time and expertise, and in some cases matching funds. Without these contributions NANOOS would be sorely diminished.
