Water measurements at the NEMO Observatory site where the Environmental Sample Processor is located 13 miles off La Push, Washington from 9 September 2016 - 18 October 2016. These products are provided to help understand where toxic algae may be moving and the conditions that may influence toxic blooms.

Alexandrium Species (Present / Not Detected)

Present / Not Detected information for Alexandrium species. Alexandrium produce saxitoxins which can cause the illness paralytic shellfish poisoning in humans. For Alexandrium to be reported as present, the minimum number of cells that need to be sampled from a 1 liter seawater sample is estimated at 250. Not Detected means that Alexandrium were either absent from the seawater sample or that too few cells were sampled in order to detect them.
